Back Story – The Story Unheard:

I had decided on a whim to head out to the Outer Banks of North Carolina to meet up with a fellow colleague and art peer of mine. He had developed a proficiency for capturing the magnificence of the Milky Way in his photos. He mentioned that it would be in prime viewing conditions this particular evening and I wanted to master this skill! Who doesn’t want to capture this cosmic splendor, right?! We had arrived early so he could go over the basics with me and so we could plan out our shot – ie find the best vantage point, figure out our focal point, etc…. we would not be able to see much once the Milky Way would be visible as it would be dark so it was important for us to prepare and get our bearings. Our perfect perch was naturally the highest point we could get to, which happened to be a wonderful “crow’s nest” that overlooked the entire tidal scene as well as the perfect vantage point to capture the Milky Way composed with the Bodie Island Lighthouse. This photograph was captured from this location as the sun’s golden rays blanketed the marsh and the sounds of the bugs and frogs filled the thick summer air.

Note: Size selected is the total paper size. There will be a 1/4″ white border around the artwork so that you do not lose any of the image due to framing or matting.
