Doctrine of Sympathies: –
Born from the basis of self-organization and what the Western mystery traditions refer to as The Doctrine of Sympathies….
What is self organization? Imagine if you take a bunch of molecules and put them in a closed system – each molecule would be as if it was its own individual self acting chaotic and randomly. But as they come closer, they eventually come together and act as a whole cohesive unit; the parts synchronize and create a newly organized system. A new organism is born and that organism is said to be a self-organized unit.
As this new self-organized unit interacts with its environment, it comes in contact with other self-organized systems and “join together in spontaneous synchronization, becoming an entirely new system that displays its own unique behaviors that are newer (& more complex) than those of the parts.”
Depicted are 2 separate self-organized entities – the “broken” human heart and the healing bees.
Art Panel Size: 30″ x 40″ x 1-5/8″
This is an original, one-of-a-kind piece of artwork and has been proofed, signed and dated by the artist as Jennifer Gleason.
Much love and care went into creating & assembling this beautiful original piece of artwork!
Doctrine of Sympathies began its creation as a several photographs and textures that were artfully blended together through digital processes to create the photographic imagery. The printed beehive pattern was created from scratch using sacred geometry principles and channeling bees in nature. Once the digital image was complete, it was transformed into an archival pigment print on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Matte Paper with an Ultrasmooth finish 308gsm weight. The print was coated with a print shield protectant and dry-mounted onto a birch wood panel that had been treated with an aging compound to give the edges a charred wood finish. The edges of the print were then sanded and bevelled to marry the print to the panel. Gold leaf was applied to the border to enhance the gold tones throughout the imagery. Once the adhesive had cured completely, the MAGIC began! Yuli then added life & movement to the imagery by creating brushstrokes with acrylic gel medium. The wooden honeycomb was constructed out of wooden toothpicks to bring a 3-Dimensional element to the piece. This honeycomb was dusted with gold leaf foils and then brushed with clear acrylic gel medium to set.
It was also during the hand embellishment process & the laying on of hands that Yuli infused healing heart frequencies from her heart into the art.
