Empty Nest:

A little backstory on this image: I originally created this piece for an event celebrating “the beauty of the booty” in an effort to fight censorship in a conservative art district; however this piece has so much more meaning to me.

This image also celebrates the beauty of the barren woman as in Sylvia Plath’s “Barren Woman”.

The speaker, the “barren woman” of the poem describes her state as empty. She likens herself to a deserted space,

a “museum without statues,” at its center a fountain which, rather than issuing life, recycles its water,

which “sinks back into itself.”
