Much love and care went into creating & assembling this beautiful original limited edition piece of artwork!
Life Cycle began its creation as a simple macro photograph of a leaf in the artist’s back patio. Like a caterpillar turning into a butterfly, this little leaf transformed into a self-portrait as it was projected onto the artist’s body. Little leaf then underwent a myriad of digital processes in the digital darkroom as well as being merged with other photographs such as dirt, an avocado seed, plant and cracked paint. Once the digital image was complete, it was brilliantly transformed into an archival pigment print on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Matte Paper with an Ultrasmooth finish 308gsm weight. The print was coated with a print shield protectant and dry-mounted onto a custom solid mahogany wood panel. The print edges were then sanded and bevelled to give a slight white border to draw the eye in and to marry the print to the panel. Once the adhesive had cured completely, the MAGIC began! Yuli then added life & movement to the imagery by creating brushstrokes with acrylic gel medium to add a painterly aesthetic. It was also during the hand embellishment process & the laying on of hands that Yuli infused healing heart frequencies from her heart into the art.
Each original is as unique as a fingerprint.
