Much love and care went into creating & assembling this beautiful original limited edition piece of artwork!
Voluspa began its creation as a 2 photographs – 1 was a photo taken in the Blue Ridge Mountains of a foggy forest and the 2nd being a portrait of model, Amber Matthews draped in crepe fabric and holding props provided photographed in studio. The original photos underwent basic edits and toning in the digital darkroom then they were merged and the moon cycle over Valuspa’s head was created. Once the digital image was complete, it was brilliantly transformed into an archival pigment print on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Matte Paper with an Ultrasmooth finish 308gsm weight. The print was coated with a print shield protectant and dry-mounted onto a solid birch wood panel that had been treated with an aging compound for a charred wood finish. The print edges were then sanded and bevelled to give a slight white border to draw the eye in and to marry the print to the panel. Once the adhesive had cured completely, the MAGIC began! Yuli then added life & movement to the imagery by creating brushstrokes with acrylic gel medium to add a painterly aesthetic. It was also during the hand embellishment process & the laying on of hands that Yuli infused healing heart frequencies from her heart into the art.
Each original is as unique as a fingerprint.
