Giving The Tear:  

Inspired by the fable, Skeleton Woman as analyzed in Clarissa Pinkola Estes’s book Woman Who Run With Wolves

– the most precious tear given… the one of passion & compassion shows the soul what it truly wants.

Each original piece of artwork is proofed, dated & signed by the the artist. This piece of original artwork is signed by the artist as her former identity of Jennifer Gleason. All future editions will be signed as Yuli Anun.

Much love and care went into creating & assembling this beautiful original limited edition piece of artwork! 

Giving The Tear began its creation as several photographs of each of the elements that create the piece including self-portrait photos of the artist’s eyes. The images were edited edited to bring out tones & subtle details; then merged together with a myriad of digital effects including digital drawing of the tears in the compassionate plant. Once the digital image was complete, it was brilliantly transformed into an archival pigment print on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Matte Paper with an Ultrasmooth finish 308gsm weight. The print was coated with a print shield protectant and dry-mounted onto birch wood panel that had been given a hand-aged finishing treatment. The print edges were then sanded and bevelled to give a slight white border to draw the eye in and to marry the print to the panel. Once the adhesive had cured completely, the MAGIC began! Yuli then added life & movement to the imagery by creating brushstrokes with acrylic gel medium to add a painterly aesthetic. It was also during the hand embellishment process & the laying on of hands that Yuli infused healing heart frequencies from her heart into the art.

Each original is as unique as a fingerprint.
